Lake of the Woods is located in a major migratory flyway.  It features habitat with plenty of calm bays and wild rice beds where resident and migrating ducks and geese can be found.  A variety of ducks visit the area early in season including mallards, teal and wood ducks.  Later in the season you will find ring necks, bluebills, black ducks, buffle heads, golden eyes and geese.

Walking ridges and trails can award the hunter with partridge and grouse.
